Juniors
Peninsula Tennis Association (PTA) Junior competition is played during Winter and
Summer seasons on Saturday mornings (not in school holidays). This competition is
suitable for girls and boys aged 18 years and under, of all skill levels.
LTC home matches are played at Langwarrin Tennis Club or at Elisabeth Murdoch College.
Away venues are within a twenty minute drive.
Most teams require 4 players per week. Teams generally have 5 players, so each one takes a turn
at sitting out. It is important that all players are reliable. If just one player does not arrive
on time, it affects seven other players (the LTC team and the opposition), and it reflects
on the club. It is good etiquette for players to stay until all their team has finished playing.
Correct tennis attire must be worn, including tennis shoes which won't mark the courts. (Clothing
such as board shorts and surf gear are not acceptable).
Parents are required to be rostered for Canteen duty once or twice per season and we are always
looking for volunteers to help out by supervising a sessions play at LTC or EMC.
You must be a financial club member to play in this inter club competition.
A year's membership fee covers 2 seasons and no additional competition fees are charged.
For further details contact the
Junior Coordinator - Beck Milham on 0422 931 154 or email: unbeckable@gmail.com

clean and tidy. The Team Captain will allocate specific responsibilities.
No matter how bad the weather, you must always turn up for matches unless advised otherwise by
the Coordinator.
As with every competition, it's important to let us know if you're unlikely to be able to play all season.
Clubs get fined heavily for late team withdrawals.
If you think you might be interested, why not put your name forward as an emergency player. This could

Night
If you don't want to commit yourself to inter-club competition and can find the time to
play tennis one or two nights a week, maybe night tennis is for you.
Night competition is played at the club on four nights each week, starting at 7.30. It
is not played during school holidays.
There is an Autumn season, starting in February and finishing early in June, and a Spring
season, which starts in August and ends in early December.
It is a team doubles competition, and each player is a member of a team, so it's important
to be available to play each week. However, there are usually emergencies available if you
can't play on the odd occasion.
You don't need to be a club member to play night tennis as it is not an inter-club competition.
It's a friendly competition within the club, which costs just a few dollars each time you play
to cover balls, lights and prizes. New balls are used each night.
MONDAY Ladies night. Each person plays 3, sets of doubles. Members $5, non-members $10.
TUESDAY: Mens night. Each person plays 3 sets of doubles. Members $5, non-members $10.
WEDNESDAY Mixed competition. Each person plays 1 set of mens or ladies doubles and then
2 sets of mixed doubles. Members $5, non-members $10.
THURSDAY Mixed social tennis (Fast Fours). You don't need to be in a team - just turn up and play.
Read more about the fast fours format. Members $5, non-members $10.
You might like to put your name forward as an emergency player. This could give you an opportunity
to try this competition without making a commitment. All players pay for their night's tennis on the
night.
